A Twin City Tells Its Story Through The Numbers
In the foothills of the Appalachians and bisected by the Virginia-Tennessee state line sits the historic downtown of Bristol. But it's not just the two states that intersect in Bristol – the community is literally the perfect mixture of quality of life, low cost of living (and real estate) and robust workforce.
The challenge that the Bristol Chamber faced in telling this unique story with data, however, stems from its composite geography and footprint that doesn't conveniently map to the metro area as officially defined. With mounting needs to take the lead on this data reporting, the Chamber partnered with eIMPACT and announced today the launch of its new Economic Overview Dashboard.
The dashboard, built up from an 8-zip code "greater Bristol footprint," features data from leading sources, including Lightcast, Zillow, US Census and the Bureau of Labor Statistics. From start to finish, it took just three weeks to implement.
